Prosperous Coach Forum Posting Guidelines

Printer-Friendly Format

Before posting on the Prosperous Coach TM Online Forum, please read our terms of use and follow these guidelines.

How to post

How not to post

Make your posts informative
It is good practice to make your post as clear to the reader as possible. Before you post, think about how you would like your question (or answer) to be phrased if you were the one answering (or receiving) it. When posting a question, keep in mind that you're more likely to draw responses when you provide some information yourself.

Avoid posts that offer little information, express emotion to the exclusion of reason, or attack another person. We don't expect your posts to be written like an academic thesis. But we do want the reading of the online forum to be time well spent.

Be civil
We encourage the exchange of views, but be civil about it. If you disagree with an opinion, challenge the opinion; don't attack the person who asserted it. Personal attacks ("flaming") violate the rules of the site. At the same time, when you post you must be aware of the possibility that somebody will lash out at you for a statement you made on the forum.

Use standard case and punctuation
Sentences in conventional syntax are easy to read. That means using upper and lowercase letters in a traditional manner: neither all caps, nor all lowercase. Capital letters look like SHOUTING on a message board. All lowercase letters makes for laborious reading.

Give it away
Please be aware that anything you post on the Prosperous Coach online forum may be republished, excerpted, commented on, or used in any other way by Prosperous Coach. It's a public conversation.

Prosperous Coach reserves the right, in our discretion and without notice, to remove posts or to terminate the account of any member who violates the following rules:

No copyright violations

It is a violation of our rules -- and of copyright laws -- to take materials from copyrighted sources and post them on our online forum or in an email. Copyrighted sources can mean anything from The New York Times to another user's writings on the forum or in an email. Contributors may summarize articles and other writings and post an occasional sentence or two, but not the entire piece. Summarizing is giving a brief outline of the article in your own words, or the quoting of brief passages in combination with your own relevant thoughts .

No solicitation

It is against our rules to advertise or solicit business anywhere on Prosperous Coach without our permission. Solicitation includes requests to be emailed, the posting of phone numbers, and the posting of your Web site address, for commercial purposes. People come to the online forum for a conversation among peers, not a sales pitch.

No spamming or disruption

It is a violation of our rules to "spam" a folder or folders, by posting the same message on multiple occasions. The same is true for the posting of messages that are solely designed to disrupt the conversation or annoy its participants. A message board that is filled with off-topic promotional messages, or messages that are posted just for the sake of mischief, is useless.
